Part 2: Back to Basics. Let’s Play The Sims 4: Cottage Living!

Welcome to part two of the Sims 4 Cottage Living Let’s Play.

Last time we med Ava Greenburg who moved into her grandparents old cottage in Henford-on-Bagley to start a new simple life. Let’s start of with a calm picture of Ava and Oreo, because the calm is about to change…

After days of asking Ava to hang out at her place or some cool community lot, the inevitable happened… Aili, Ava’s girlfriend, asked to come over to her place. The fact that Ava lives in a small cottage off-the-grid now seems pretty hard to hide.

At least she’s dressed for the occasion!

Ava: “So, um, hi…”
Aili: “This is your place??”
Ava: “Yeah, this is me. Me and my, um, cottage. Heh.”

Aili: “I love it!”
Ava: “Y-you do?”

Aili: “Of course, when I move in I’d prefer hot water and electricity, it’d be easier and safer with kids too…”
Ava: “Kids? You want to have kids? With me?”
Aili: “Duh, silly!”

Ava: “I love you!”
Aili: “I love you too! I can’t believe you thought you had to keep this a secret!”
Oreo: *not impressed*

Not. Impressed. At. All.

Celebratory WooHoo for Aili joining the household. Gotta move fast, you know? Strike while the iron is hot and all that… Okay, okay, maybe this SimGod was just a little too excited. And these two were getting along wonderfully so why not? Could use an extra pair of hands on the farm, too.

Speaking of the farm, it got a complete make-over that I spent way, way too long on. Inspired by southern Swedish/Skanian countryside architecture. Aili got us a hefty sum of money for selling all of the stuff from the mansion she lived in. Found out she has the klepto trait, which doesn’t quite explain how she could afford all of that, but hmm.

Ava: “How about this?”
Aili: “That’ll do pig, that’ll do.”
Ava: “What?”
Aili: “Nothing. It’s great! I love it!”

Ava keeps up the jogging tradition with Oreo.

…while Aili’s being, um, responsible and looking after the place. Yeah.

Aili seems to have lost her job as a pizza deliverer, so I have her start her duties with gardening. I also got her a job as a gardener.

Work minion, work! I mean, uhh… I don’t know. Fishing’s a relaxing activity, don’t you think?

Mmmm fish on a stick…!

Ah, oops. That’s not the fish causing rumbles in Aili’s tummy, apparently I completely missed her discovering she was pregnant!

It’s a little soon perhaps, but Ava seems happy with the news.

Oreo, as per usual, not so much 🙂

I’m not very good with the actual cottage living stuff and it’s not getting much better soon haha but here’s Ava tripping on some mushroom mash talking to birds and stuff. You know, for good measure.

Aili’s a family sim, by the way, so she’s at home preparing the nursery meanwhile. Nesting, while Ava’s bird nesting. Almost poetic.

Oreo seems to be kind of warming up to the new household member!

Aww! ❤

All is pretty well in the household! Cooking (fish) together…

…and working in the garden together as well.

That was the calm before the storm, it’s time for the little bundle of joy to arrive! These sim pregnancies are a bit, well, odd with Seasons and long lifespan. She’s been pregnant for like barely a season, and it’s already time to deliver! Not that I’m complaining, mind you, keeping up the needs of pregnant sims is a struggle (especially if you want to actually do anything else, too). Nothing compared to a normal “real person” pregnancy, though, but that’s a whole different rant 🙂

Welcome to the world, baby boy Elliot!

Anyone surprised by Oreo’s rather chilly reaction? XD

Don’t worry, it’s great here!
